Zvok in posnet dialog v GW2

Guild Wars 2 informacije se nadaljujejo! Na ArenaNet blogu nam Bobby Stein (glavni pisec) razkrije osupljivo dejstvo, da bo GW2 vseboval na tone posnetega dialoga in sicer kar za 60 celovečernih filmov! :o Članek vsebuje tudi dva zvočna vzorca.

Early on during Guild Wars 2 development, we discussed how much voice we wanted in the game. Everyone agreed that simply recording cinematics wasn’t enough, but how much would we need to immerse players in our world? We thought about the kinds of experiences we’d had in our favorite audio-heavy games like Grand Theft Auto IV, and we started paying attention to all the different ways that they employed voice-over to not only tell an engaging tale, but to literally surround you with sound. We talked about our planned content types, how we wanted to use audio in combat scenarios, and the different ways that we could both entertain and educate players about our world. We made a decision that, quite frankly, questioned our sanity.

Zelo pogosto se dogaja, da ponavadi tiste najbolj zanimive in informativne intervjuje objavljajo najmanj znane fan strani. Tudi tokrat je tako. :) Eric Flannum, Jeff Grubb in Chris Lye na francoski strani Univers Virtuels odgovarjajo na vprašanja o skillih, PvEju, PvPju, environmental orožjih, novelah, splošnem gameplayu ipd.

UV: Three servers will be at war each week with a predefined rotation. Will players who do not belong to the three concerned servers still be able to fight in the Mists, with no rewards of course?

Eric: A World vs. World match is really about three vast groups of players fighting each others over a variety of objectives, so that their world can obtain certain advantages. Every server is involved in a three-server WvW match in the Mists and players may only fight for the server they currently belong to. Since every server is always involved in a WvW match of some sort, we need to allow players to transfer servers during a WvW matchup. However, since it would not be fair to allow people from other worlds to influence the balance of the battle by constantly moving between servers, we will impose some restrictions for a short amount of time on players who switch servers.

When you decide to con a free weapon out of the local lumberjacks, that choice moves you more toward being known as a scoundrel. Inspiring some war-weary guards to carry on the fight moves you more towards being known as honorable or even noble. Perhaps you will boast and bully your way through Tyria and become known as barbaric. Your actions will sometimes allow you special responses or interactions with the world. Barbaric characters, for example, can occasionally just cut to the end of a conversation with a punch to the face.
