GW2 @ UK PC Gamer

Tudi UK različica revije PC Gamer ta mesec piše o Guild Wars 2, in začuda vsebuje sveže informacije o dungeonih. Uporabnik Lyssa je na GW2Guru forumu spisal kratko obnovo, iz katere izvemo, da bodo dungeoni imeli dve stopnji: story mode in explorable mode (slednjega bo mogoče preigrati celo večkrat). Kot kaže, pa bomo obiskali tudi Ascalon catacombe in srečali nekatere GW1 NPCje.

*Yay new info! (No matter how small) As you go along the personal story you’ll be playing through a new dungeon about once every 10 levels or so.

* ”The story of each [dungeon] focuses on one or more of the Destiny’s Edge, a guild of heroes who reliably saved the world untill some dark events split them apart. It is your objective to get them back together.’ Woo its getting juicy.

*”The first time you play a dungeon, you’ll play through its Story Mode, where one or two members of Destiny’s Edge show up as friendly NPCs to drive the story foward.”

*Although story driven, dungeons arent all about sitting around talking. Its about fighting. ”Even one that starts out as a party in a mansion quickly turns to combat”

*”Beating a dungeon’s Story Mode will unlock its Explorable Mode, a harder version of the dungeon which tells varied follow-up stories in that same area, unrelated to Destinys edge”

* They say that the explorer dungeon mode is meant to be really repeatable. It’ll have many different scenarios and enemies that could appear each time (while not being random.)

Armors have up to three dye areas per piece.

Every piece might not require it, as you may have a simple glove that would only need one or two colors, but you’ll have so much more freedom and flexibility with three dye areas per armor piece. Unlike the original Guild Wars, where there was only one area to dye and this would coordinate with neutral tones and fabrics you couldn’t change, in Guild Wars 2 you’ll have the ability to change most all of the other areas.

Dungeons!

Decembrska številka ameriške revije PC Gamer bo prava poslastica za vse GW2 fane. Vsebovala bo namreč dolgo pričakovane informacije o Guild Wars 2 dungeonih, ki jih razvijalci primerjajo z misijami iz prvega dela igre, in ki bodo služile kot end-content (torej vsebina po max levelu). Yay! :)

GW2 iPad & Smart Phone App

Prva zanimiva novica s sejma PAX je vsekakor predstavitev Guild Wars 2 aplikacije za pametne telefone in iPad, ki bo vsebovala na tone uporabnih funkcionalnosti in bo na voljo brezplačno za vse GW2 igralce. Med drugim bo omogočala chat s prijatelji in guild memberji, prikaz njihove lokacije na mapi ter dostop do in-game trgovine (auction house/marketplace).

At launch, the app will have tons of features available, designed to help offline players connect with their friends in-game. Along with the ability to chat with your friends and guildmates from your portable device, players will also be able to view the location of their friends via a fullscreen map, showing their actions and movement in real-time.

Other planned features of the app include a remote auction house and the ability to add new friends straight from your portable device. The app will be available to Guild Wars 2 players for no extra charge.

Hmm, končno dober razlog za nakup kakšnega Android telefončka. :)

Update: Rick Ellis, tehnični direktor podjetja ArenaNet, je na blogu podrobneje opisal delo Extended Experience team-a ter nekatere funkcionalnosti Guild Wars 2 iPhone/iPad/Android aplikacije.

One thing that separates what we’re doing from the rest of the MMO market is that we aren’t using a simple, one-way connection to get information from the game. We have constructed a high-speed connection to the Guild Wars 2 server and database architecture, allowing us to not only retrieve information from the game but also push data into the game in real time.

Update #2: Rick odgovarja na vprašanja o mobilni aplikaciji.

Q: Is there any chance of getting something akin to GW’s observer mode with this application?

Rick: That’s definitely within the realm of possibility, but we haven’t announced any such features…yet.
