Guild Wars 2. Ok… big deal… it’s another freaking MMORPG. Probably another “WoW Clone” (I am so sick of those two words by the way. I have never even played WoW!). Then I started watching the little profession videos they have up on their website… and reading some of the lore they have going on in this little game of theirs. Hmm…

GuildMag: What are aquatic weapons and how do they work?

Eric: So you noticed those aquatic weapon slots? Aquatic weapons are a separate weapon set that you switch to when you go underwater. They are a unique set of weapons designed and animated to look good while being used underwater. Other than that they work very much like our “normal” weapons.

Comic-Con – 20-24 July 2011: We’ll be visiting this mecca for all things pop cultural in San Diego, California, North America this year. More details to come!

Gamescom – 17-21 August 2011: Europe’s largest game show in beautiful Cologne, Germany, is definitely on our list. We’ll have a demo build of Guild Wars 2, plenty of devs on hand to meet fans and answer questions, and some cool surprises.

PAX – 26-28 August 2011: There’s no way we’d miss PAX Prime, a legendary three-day gaming festival in Seattle, Washington, North America. We’ve got big plans for this year’s PAX, so stay tuned!

San Diego Comic-Con (July 21-24) How could we miss the granddaddy of all pop-cultural conventions? We’ll send an elite team of artists and devs down to the San Diego Convention Center to meet fans and do signings. Drop by the NCsoft booth to play Guild Wars 2 and try your hand at the engineer!

Gamescom (August 17-21) in Cologne, Germany will be our first European show this year, and as usual we will bring a playable demo along and will show you a bunch of new surprises that we can’t talk about yet – you’ll have to stop by our booth to see for yourself! We will also have our traditional costume competition for our European fans, so start gathering your crafting materials!

Rest is for the weak! The weekend after gamesom, our entire studio will descend upon PAX Prime (August 26-28) here in Seattle. This is our home turf, so expect big surprises, cool swag, interesting panels, and a ton of Guild Wars 2 demo stations.

Sure, summer is officially over by the time we reach October, but we’re not done yet! We’ll return to Europe once more for the massive Paris Games Week (October 21-25), where we’ll bring our hands-on demo for our French fans – enez nous dire bonjour si vous passez dans le coin!
