“Norn Week” naslednji teden

Po besedah mmorpg.com, bodo pri ArenaNet naslednji teden namenili rasi norn. Podobno kot pri ljudeh, bomo o nornih dobili nekaj več informacij, kot tudi nov video prispevek.

This coming Monday the official ArenaNet Blog will treat players to an in-depth introduction to the shape shifting half-giants known as the Norn, and throughout the remainder of the week provide readers with additional insight from the developers on the lore, the newest art, and a new video as well.

Testiranje @ ArenaNet

Testiranje (QA) je zelo pomemben del pri razvoju programske opreme, še posebaj, ko gre za zapletene in ogromne online svetove. Član testne skupine, Jerramen “Yamen” O’Donnell, nam razkrije, kako testirajo pri ArenaNet.

Beyond that, individual QA members serve on ArenaNet’s strike teams. These strike teams, who are assembled from several departments, focus on one specific aspect of the game: crafting, PvP, story, and other cool things that I can’t tell you about yet. By concentrating our efforts like this, we’re able to provide insightful, well-informed feedback that we couldn’t give otherwise.

When will there be a beta?

We will be conducting small closed alpha and beta tests in 2011. The feedback from these tests will determine when we will do public beta tests and ship the game. Guild Wars 2 is a very large and ambitious game, and Guild Wars players rightfully have very high expectations. We want players to be absolutely blown away by the game the first time they experience it.

Jon Peters o boju

Designer Jon Peters nam pojasni, zakaj Guild Wars 2 boj ne bo deloval po principu vsem znane trojice (heal, DPS, tank). Bomo videli, je rekel slepi. ;)

We’ve said this a few times in a few places but I can’t reiterate it enough: We built this game so that they professions act as play styles, not as roles. Each profession can support, control, and do damage. We believe that this creates more dynamic combat and more distinct professions because there are more play styles than roles.
